More snow fun

Soon after the children left for school the snow began to really come down and continued until early afternoon.  This was my first week back to work 3 days a week rather than 2, so between that and some school projects the children had, I had serious laundry issues!!!  So Chris and I held up in the house getting jobs done and watching the beautiful snow! Abby giving Chris some love as he shovels!

Our mail carrier was not happy as he got very stuck delivering the mail.

Lacy is just so cute!   She became maniac dog as Chris got the 4 wheeler out later in the afternoon!IMG_7814

Abby and Lacy2

I went for a 4 wheeler ride with Chris and then got the camera out. It was gorgeous and fun, but cold!!!  Lacy is such a maniac, she ran and chased that 4 wheeler incessantly!

A Snowy Day

It was a grey afternoon, the clouds were heavy and low.  It smelled like snow!  There was snow in the forecast but, one never knows for sure! Soon after dinner the flakes started.  IMG_7674The evening progressed rather  uneventfully.  I cancelled morning bible study in case the snow was deep.  The kids were shooed off to a warm bath and story before bed.  Thanks to Erin for reading with Alan!

IMG_7710 IMG_7728 In the morning we awoke to a 2 hour school delay and some lovely snow!  The kids wasted no time getting out in it!  Lacy was delighted!  I think this was one of the first years we actually had snow suits and boots for everyone.  Except, of course, Lacy!IMG_7770

It really started to snow before the kids had to go to school.  The bus driver was not happy!  Her blades were freezing up and it was very hard to see!

TeriScraps's Gallery: Snow Angel over easy

TeriScraps's Gallery: Snow Angel over easy

Thought I'd share a layout from back in 2006, scrapbook.com has added a thing that lets me post this directly to my blog! We had lots of fun this particular snowy day as back in 06 and before we don't often get good snows. I had put my scrapbook things away for a while, so it was fun to get them out and get working. I'm back in 06, so I have some catching up to do!
We noticed a strange thing during the one sunny day last week. Our indoor cat, Socks, comes up everyday at noon and rolls in the sun beam. This particular day was the first "not foggy" day in several dark and dreary days. She waits until she is sure that 1. the dogs are outside and 2. No one is watching. OOPS, caught ya!

Arsenal: as you can see our arsenal of nerf guns grew over Christmas. ... plan a party! They can't wait until our college foster students come over...
A 'Possom Tale...
So I'm doing book work last Friday when something catches my eye out the window. I like to use the laptop at the Dining Room table. Anyway, Lacy has something... usually she barks and carries on when she finds something like an opposom or squirrel, but not today. Ewwww

Eww, eww eww I think it's dead, but then it looks at me... ew ew ew!I thought I'd just leave it until Chris got home for lunch. The cats came to check things out so Lacy had to guard it. Then she started playing with it and I decided to lock her up in the fence. As I came around to the front of the house, the dead possom was walking away. "I let him live." At this point of course Lacy busted out of the fence after it and followed it into the Wolfe's garage where it found some place to hide. And this I had to share with you. You can add it to the "If you ever catch your dog playin with a possom in the front yard...you might be a red neck"
'nough said!

christmas 09.wmv

A little past the Holiday season, but here are the Holiday photos! Lindsey and Mom I shared some of yours to fill in what I did not have. It's a little long, but hang on until at least the middle as there is some live Chirstmas Eve music! Oh boy.

We had some freezing fog this morning through noon.
There's a train parked by our house, this is about a quarter of a mile out...foggy!
Around 11 the sun started to come out and add some color!

I never cease to be amazed at how beautiful some frozen water can be! God is good!

The son of one of our friends from church singing, "Hush Little Chicken" at the Christmas program. Now never mind that chickens don't say "cockadoodle do", this is how he chose and insisted on singing it and it is CUTE!

The weather in PA was snowy with a forecast of freezing rain. The weather across country was not good and only getting worse, so even though I was nervous, we headed out. We had travel mercies in that the roads through western Kansas and West Viriginia were not too bad and then it was pretty clear the rest of the way. I took some car photos just for fun! Leaving Harrisburg PAIMG_1332 It was so very foggy and yucky but I wanted a photo of the state capitol, you can see the Capitol building on the far left side of the photo. Actually I think this was taken the day before we left, oh well! Here we are heading under the mountain tunnels. There are several: Blue Mountain is the first and here it is. Under we go!

IMG_1334IMG_1344 I love this photo while driving in western PA looking down into this valley. Brings back memories of driving to my sister’s house in Pittsburgh PA for a visit! IMG_1347

Leaving PA and into West Virginia, you can see the weather is lovely! Sunset finds us in Indianapolis…pretty sunset.IMG_1354
